Bringing film and music together to create stories that are seen, heard, and remembered.
SJB Entertainment Group is an independent production company founded by writer, director, and composer Steven John Batky. Film, music, and design come together in everything we make, and it's built right into our logo.
Our debut feature, I DIE, reflects that approach, combining original storytelling, practical craftsmanship, and a distinct creative voice at every stage of production. With more projects in development across live action and animation, we're committed to producing bold, independent work that stands apart.
Our debut feature is complete, and the next projects are already in development.

Steven John Batky
Writer, Director, Composer
Steven John Batky is a multidisciplinary artist whose career spans film, music, sound, and design. Long before stepping behind the camera, he built a career in music as a singer, songwriter, pianist, engineer, and mixer.
He began as the drummer and songwriter for the Ottawa-based metal band Witchkiller, whose EP was released by Metal Blade Records. After relocating to Los Angeles, he was discovered by A&R executive Vicky Hamilton and formed I, Napoleon. As the band's frontman and principal songwriter, he secured a record deal with Geffen Records and released the band's self-titled debut album.
He is also the founder of SJB Design, an interior design firm, and brought that eye for space and atmosphere to the production design of I DIE. On his debut feature, Batky served as writer, director, composer, and sound designer, and also appears on screen.
